First person

There are three persons in this world; the world in which we drink tea!


"What are you addicted to?", I asked, sipping tea from the white cup.

"Computer. Orkut. Mobile Phone. Adobe Photoshop", told the second person.

"Who, me?" the other person asked. "No way".
He started thinking.

"I am addicted to life", I said.

"Life?", asked the third person. "So you don't want to die?"

Who wants to die? Nobody wants to.

"Man, then why are you doing MTech? Anyway you will die.", the second person told.

I suddenly became a little serious. I think I lost myself in thought. Several things came to my mind. I started visualising the day when my grandmother died. How we had gone to the crematorium. How everybody was sad. How I had to take bath before going back into the house. How a girl from my adjacent class had seen me in the van carrying the body and how she had given surprised looks at me when I turned up in the tuition class the following day and the days after.

Main abhi ek joke sunata hoon, announced the third person.

Main yoo hi kaafi baar mara hoon, par ek baar main maraa tha.
(I have died several times, but once I had died)

He looked at me and asked "Samjhe Varun?"

Na.

Then it is very difficuilt to continue any further, he said and laughed to himself.

Nevertheless, after translating it to English, he continued
"Log bolenge:

'Saala, he has died in June, when he should have been in Dehra Doon'".

That made the atmosphere glee. All three of us laughed aloud.


"After 100 years, none of us will be living. All will be dead", I said still unable to come out of the thought.

They didn't pay much attention.

We all got up and went away..
